Open mics, talent shows, concerts, festivals
At ThatsGoodness we believe an artist is a member of the community and there is no better way to ensure that they are engaged with that community then by having shows the public can have both geographical and financial access to. Likewise, in building a strong community for the arts we feel it is necessary that an artist at every stage of her/his career has venues and audiences they are able to perform in/for. ThatsGoodness will produce affordable shows of all sizes; from intimate open mic events to massive internationally attended festivals, offering both the general public and the aspiring/established artist healthy fun ways to interact and build strong communities. These events will be open to ThatsGoodness artists and other independent and/or signed artists as well. As we move forward all ThatsGoodness shows will be dedicated donation sites for food, or clothing, or both. All donations will then be delivered by ThatsGoodness to predesignated organizations, charities, and or shelters.
Health fairs, community forums
ThatsGoodness was formed on the belief that music is an ideal vehicle to engage communities in making healthy lifestyle choices and helping them get access to healthcare. With that founding principle in mind it is key that ThatsGoodness be an advocate of the health and healthcare community in and around NYC. We will create community health fairs that serve as gateways to free concerts. As with all ThatsGoodness shows the concerts will have performance slots for artists that are and are not signed with ThatsGoodness. We will also, in collaboration with other organizations, develop, produce and facilitate community health forums to address the most pressing human rights and health issues in our communities.
High School summer camp
Each summer ThatsGoodness will organize and staff a competition based summer camp for musically gifted and financially disadvantaged youth in the NYC area. This will be a six to eight week music intensive program that exposes the youth to music instruction, and music business during the day and various music shows in the evening. ThatsGoodness artists will be instructors at the summer camp. The summer camp will culminate in a youth concert completely produced, organized and performed by the youth.
East African music/health conference tours
The East African tour will be developed in collaboration with national and international healthcare organizations and promotions companies. The tour will consist of four countries in East Africa; Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, with the potential to grow to more countries and continents. The East African tour will operate on a semi annual basis and will be mainly for ThatsGoodness artists, although artists from outside the label will be invited to attend/perform as well. The tour will be designed as a traditional music tour is designed with the key difference that the health conference and healthcare access take place during the day and the music conference and performances take place in the evening/night.
